Liz’ Pets: Henri
Henri is a blue front Amazon. We aren’t really sure whether Henri is a male or
female, but either way we call “him” Henri. Henri is very vocal.
Henri greets everyone who enters the house with a loud “HELLO” and when
they leave he yells “GOODBYE”. He tells me to get the phone when it rings.
He often asks me if I know what I’m doing.
When I try to do something for him he
tells me to leave him alone and assures
me that he knows what he’s doing. He
tells me what a good boy he is and that
he loves me. He’ll let me know if the
food I offer him tastes good or bad. He
tells the dogs to “stop it” when they get
too feisty. He sings songs and mumbles
his versions of jokes which he laughs at
in a maniacal way that makes us all
laugh. He is quite the character. I
hand-fed Henri when he was just a little
guy, when he had few feathers years
ago. I have many Henri stories. Henri
is worth so much more than a brief
description. You’d have to meet him to
understand.
